| | When I registered to vote in September of 2000 I signed up as an
Independant voter. Although chances are that I wouldn't vote
Republican, I wanted to make a statement about my issue with only
really having two political parties in this country. I voted for
Ralph Nater, because I knew I could in Mass because Gore would win
anyways, and because I felt that the Green Party had the right to get
federal funding and be able to participate in debates.
Now, everything seems so different. I cant believe how openly the
Republican party is willing to lie to the American people. They
think that we are stupid enough that we will buy what they say at face
value. On CNN this afternoon a major spokesperson for the Bush campaign
compared the anti-Kerry documentary that is about to run on network
television (which is against election laws, by the way) as being
exactly the same thing as Farenheight 9/11. Never mind that one is on
television and they're not even paying for advertising space by calling
it a "documentary" while the other was a movie that people had to pay
to go and see. Beyond being two seperate people's oppinions on the
election, they have nothing in common. I shutter to think about how
many stupid individuals believe this drivel.
Which comes to my point: after watching the open lies and various other
ways that the Repulican party deceived the American people, I WILL
NEVER vote Republican. I am heading over to the town hall where I
will changing my registration to Democrat, where it is going to stay
for at least a couple of years. So you've done one thing
Bush...you've gotten the other party one more supporter. |
